Pokemon Go - How to Get Coins

How to earn coins with the new gym system.

Pokemon Go has received its latest update that adds a whole host of new content for players to get their hands on. The new update allows you to earn a Pokemon Go gym bonus the rewards you with huge amounts of coins! Getting your hands on as many coins as possible is critical if you want to purchase items, help your Pokemon, and be the very best!

How to Get Coins

The recent Pokemon Go update has changed how you earn coins. No longer will you receive coins every 21 hours, instead the bonus will increase the longer a Pokemon is in a gym. Unfortunately, this means you won’t receive the gym coins until after the Pokemon is defeated and returned to your inventory.

There are a few steps involved in getting coins:

Step 1: Put a Pokemon in a gym.

Step 2: Pokemon must remain in the gym for at least 1 hour before being defeated.

Step 3: You will earn one coin for each hour that your Pokemon holds the gym.

Step 4: You will receive your Pokemon Go coins once your Pokemon is deafeat.

The longer your Pokemon remains in the gym, the more coins it earns per hour. However, you can only earn 50 coins per day. In order to get the most coins out of your Pokemon, you will want to check up on your Pokemon and feed it to ensure it lasts as long as possible.

Thankfully, you will receive a notification when your Pokemon is defeated and returns with the coins it has earned. Keep in mind that there is currently a bug where you might not receive this notification, so if this happens to you, simply reset the app.

The Pokemond Go update has changed things for the better, making it more rewarding for you to have a Pokemon in a gym. If you want to get the most amount of coins per day, make sure your Pokemon is super strong and well-fed!
