Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court - New Curios

Here’s each of the new Curios in Darkest Dungeon’s new DLC, The Crimson Court.

In the Darkest Dungeon, Curios are objects found in various rooms and corridors that can be interacted with to activate certain events. The Crimson Court DLC has added several new Curios to the game, each with their own special features. This guide will go over all of the new Curios that were added to the Darkest Dungeon through The Crimson Court DLC.

New Curios in Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court

Thronging Hive

  • Item: Pitch Soaked Torch

The Thronging Hive Curio is the first Curio you’ll run into in the Courtyard of The Crimson Court DLC. Rather than a standard Torch, you’ll need to use three Pitch Soaked Torches to activate this Curio, which you will have received earlier in the quest.

Throbbing Cocoon

  • Item: Torch

Keep a regular Torch handy to burn the eggs within the Throbbing Cocoon Curio in Darkest Dungeon. Activating the Throbbing Cocoon without using an item will result in a swarm of mosquitos bursting from the cocoon instead.

Pile of Strange Bones

  • Items: Bandages, Blood

Although you have multiple options for items to use on the Pile of Strange Bones Curio, your best bet will be to use Bandages, as this results in you receiving some items in return. Using Blood will conjure vampire and mosquito enemies from the bones, which no one wants. If no item is chosen, you may earn a small trinket, or incur a bit of damage.

Crumbling Pillar

  • Item: Shovel

The Crumbling Pillar Curio is found in the Courtyard of Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court. You must use a Shovel to remove this Curio, otherwise you won’t be able to pass beyond this section. If you don’t have a spare Shovel and you interact with the Crumbling Pillar anyway, all members of your party will take damage as they begin to break down the pillar by hand instead.

Bloodflowers

  • Item: Blood, Holy Water, Shovel

The Bloodflowers in Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court are another Curio that can be activated with one of several item options. Using Holy Water will cause you to incur extra Stress while withering the flowers. Blood doesn’t have an effect, neither positive nor negative. Your best bet is to use a Shovel to dig up the Bloodflowers and receive a random treasure item.

Damned Fountain of Vitality

  • Item: Holy Water

When you encounter the Damned Fountain of Vitality Curio in Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court, pour some Holy Water on it to give one hero a Stress reduction. Activating the Damned Fountain without any item will result in a bleed effect.

Hooded Shrew

  • Item: Blood

When you come across the Hooded Shrew in The Crimson Court, offer up some Blood to receive a treasure, which consists of additional Crests and some food.

We will continue to update this list of Curios as we discover more in Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court. Be sure to check back here to see what other Curios were added with this DLC.
