10 Games We Want on Xbox Scorpio

These are only a few of the games we want to see make their way onto the Xbox Scorpio.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar make great games. It’s simple really. Anything they put out into the world turns to gold. The recent and continued success of Grant Theft Auto V is evidence enough that the hard workers over at Rockstar work on their games, pouring in blood, sweat, and tears, until they’re at a level of polish not approached by other game companies.

Now that our prayers have been answered and Red Dead Redemption 2 has been revealed, what better way to celebrate a new console than by releasing one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2018 on it?

From what we’ve seen of the teasers and trailers, the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be jaw-dropping in its beauty, and though we don’t have hard details on what the Xbox Scorpio can do, it’s bound to look fantastic. Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait until Spring 2018 to play Red Dead Redemption 2.

Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3 was MIA during last year’s E3 press conference, which left the gaming world asking whether it was still in development. Thankfully, the developers put our minds at ease and confimed that, yes, the series known for being like GTA but with superpowers, is still in production.

What made the Crackdown series so great was the ability to level up your character, unlocking new strengths like being able to jump higher and run faster. The variety of weapons and the explosive combat you could pull off made each engagement devastating for the city around you – but it was awesome!

If the power of the Xbox Scorpio is going to be as impressive as the rumors state, a game like Crackdown 3 would be able to exploit that power to create something truly memorable – more people, more cars, bigger explosions, more detailed destruction!

Sea of Thieves

Everyone goes through a bit of a weird phase in their life, and Rare’s just happened to include odd Kinect games. But thankfully, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Rare has revealed what looks to be the greatest pirate game in history.

Sea of Thieves is like The Mystery of Monkey Island meets Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. With islands to explore, booty to collect, and sea battles to wage, this pirate experience will have you longing for more swashbuckling adventures. Plus, this is a multiplayer and coop game, meaning you can take your friends on a pirate adventure and attack other players out on the seven seas.

As far as games we absolutely have to get our hands on, Sea of Thieves is at the top of our list. While it’s definitely coming to Xbox One, we think Sea of Thieves would make for an excellent contribution to the Xbox Scorpio’s release line-up.

Battlefield: Bad Company 3

It’s been seven years since the last Battlefield: Bad Company game, and after years of Battlefield titles including Battlefield 1, 3, 4, and Hardline, we think it’s about time to revisit one of the best additions to the series. These series have also taken us to many visually astounding locations and time periods, but there are other historic locations we want to see in Battlefield.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had its own feel and style, though it still used the classic Frostbite engine. Now that the Xbox Scorpio is setting its sights on our living rooms, it’s time DICE considered bringing the popular series back again.

It’s difficult to pinpoint what makes the Bad Company series so enjoyable. For a lot of people, it was the humor and singleplayer, and yet for others it was the multiplayer and how it felt. The maps were crafted with an expert hand, with each building capable of having holes blown in it. This is at odds with the current design, where a very limited number of buildings can be destroyed in the same precise manner.

Battlefield: Bad Company 3, though it only exists in our minds and hearts, could take what the series has accomplished so far, and be lifted to new heights by the power of the Xbox Scorpio.

Destiny 2

Last, but certainly not least, is Destiny 2. Bungie’s next greatest success story, Destiny 2, is set to be the biggest game to release this year, and with the series making its way to PC, we would love to have Destiny 2 on the Xbox Scorpio. Fans of the series are set to get their hands on the Destiny 2 Beta soon, there are even rumors circulating about the Destiny 2 Beta release date.

The jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, in terms of graphics and load time, were enough to make any gamer’s head spin, so we can only imagine what the power of the Xbox Scorpio will mean for a game like Destiny 2.

For a lot of gamers, the reveal that Destiny 2 will only run at 30fps on console (60fps on PC) including the PS4 Pro, was rather shocking. The reasoning behind this isn’t exactly clear, but the way Microsoft have been lauding the power of the Xbox Scorpio, we wonder whether it could be capable of reaching the desired 60fps mark.

Furthermore, the graphics of Destiny 2 are looking phenomenal, with the lighting effects bringing the series to a whole new level. Out of all the games on this list, Destiny 2 is almost guaranteed to find its way to the Xbox Scorpio, especially given the fact that games designed for the Xbox One are allegedly supposed to work on the Xbox Scorpio. But only time will tell.

While some of these games are already schedule for release sometime soon, there's no knowing whether they are planned for release on the Xbox Scorpio. To make matters more difficult, a few of these titles aren't even announced nor even confirmed to be in production - but we can hope. Let us know in the comments what games you want to see on the Xbox Scorpio!
