5 PS4 Games That Need Sequels

It would be a real shame if we never got to explore their unique worlds again.

Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon is a different sort of RPG experience. While games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dark Souls, and CD Projekt Red’s Witcher series have flirted with the idea of darker RPG concepts, developer Red Hook Studios made sure that fans knew from the outset that Darkest Dungeon would absolutely live up to its namesake.

The game cleverly mixes real-time exploration mechanics with a turn-based combat system to create a brutal yet fair dungeon delving experience in which madness and fear play just as big a part as combat skill and proper resource management. If anything, Darkest Dungeon is one of the few reasons why it is still economically justifiable to purchase a PlayStation Vita, as the game’s PS4 version shares full cross-play support with the Vita handheld.

Red Hook still has plans to continue supporting Darkest Dungeon with new content for the foreseeable future, but we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a full-blown sequel with expanded gameplay options surface at some point.
