7 Best Passive Scout Tanks in World of Tanks

Here are some solid tank picks for passive scouting.

WZ-131

With a poor turning circle, it's best to use the WZ-131's speed to relocate while passive scouting.

The Chinese offer excellent scouting tanks, so it’s no surprise that the WZ-131 makes the list. This Tier 7 Light tank can utilize the engine and gun from the Type 58, making the first few sessions with this passive scout a breeze.

Unfortunately, the WZ-131 doesn’t have the best turning circle, which is fine so long as tankers can stick to a passive role. With a View Range of 380m and a low profile, the WZ-131can go undetected for an entire match.

However, the WZ-131 is more than just your average passive scout. The WZ-131 has five guns to choose from, with several options capable of penetrating even the mightiest of enemy armor. This is one of the few tanks that can shift from a scout into an attack vehicle akin to a Medium tank.

In saying this, don’t mistake your gun’s power as an indication to ignore the fact the WZ-131 has no armor. Remain hidden for as long as possible, then punish enemies that move beyond or past you. After successfully transitioning into late-game, you can move around and penetrate enemies, while still working as a scout.
