7 Best Passive Scout Tanks in World of Tanks

Here are some solid tank picks for passive scouting.

VK 16.02 Leopard

The German Leopard is one of the best passive scouts for mid-tier battles.

The VK 16.02 Leopard is a Tier 5 German Light tank that can fill the role of a passive scout with ease. Unlike its cousin, the Luchs, which offers fantastic mobility and agility, the Leopard can struggle to turn when at speeds. To make up for this, the Leopard offers a vastly superior View Range when compared to the Luchs.

When used correctly, such as in a bush or behind cover, the Leopard can safely sit completely unnoticed by enemy units. To further help its passive scouting abilities, the Leopard has better armor values than the Luchs. This extra armor increases your survivability in the event you shoot and reveal your position, or if another player draws the enemy’s attention to you.

Due to the shape of the armor, the Leopard has greater gun depression when aiming over its sides, so try to avoid aiming down when your turret is pointing forward. Don’t be afraid to sneak behind enemy lines in the latter-half of a match and use the VK’s high speeds and thick armor to ram enemy SPGs, taking them unaware!
