Caspian Border is one of the largest maps of the entire Battlefield series, meaning that it’s an excellent place to find large-scale vehicle battles, engage in more subtle pursuits like recon and sniping, and even participate in fast-paced aerial battles using helicopters and jets.
No matter what class you preferred to play as in Battlefield 3’s multiplayer (Assault, Support, Engineer, or Recon), you could find multiple ways to support your team while playing on Caspian Border, making it even easier to see what it was such a universally loved map.
While subsequent DLC maps eventually outshone Caspian Border in terms of size, players never fully moved away from the original large-scale gem. Furthermore, DICE took notice of how much players enjoyed playing on Caspian Border and decided to bring the map back in Battlefield 4 as part of the Second Assault DLC. Suffice it to say, the modern Battlefield saga just wouldn’t feel the same without the wide open expanses and large potential for chaotic fun that Caspian Border offered.
