5 Historic Settings We Want To See In The Next Battlefield Game

World War I could only be the beginning.

Vietnam

Technically, the Battlefield series has already featured the Vietnam War not once, but twice. First in 2004’s Battlefield Vietnam, and again in the 2010 Vietnam expansion pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. However, neither of the above titles actually explored the Vietnam War conflict from a story perspective, they simply featured multiplayer battles which had a Vietnam War décor.

With today’s innovations in game development, DICE could quite easily create an experience that highlighted both the horrors of the Vietnam War and also used the conflict’s unique characteristics to facilitate an equally unique-feeling multiplayer mode. In short, the Vietnam War deserves to have a proper video game interpretation and DICE has proven with Battlefield 1 that it’s up to the task.
