M18 Hellcat
Last up on our list of best Tank Destroyers for noobs is the M18 Hellcat, a personal favorite here at Tank War Room. What makes the M18 so appealing and easy to use for new players is its fully traversing turret. Primarily due to the fact that the entire hull doesn’t need to turn when aiming left and right. This small difference makes the M18 Hellcat incredibly approachable for new players.
The Hellcat boasts one of the highest top speeds of all Tank Destroyers in the game, clocking in at 72 km/h. This allows it to quickly reposition, or to simply get into a good firing position early in the match. In addition to speed, the Hellcat features a wide selection of guns that offer good damage, accuracy, and aim time.
The Hellcat's 90 mm gun boasts a 0.35 dispersion rating with 160 penetration and 240 alpha damage, thus giving it the ability to battle with tanks of a higher tier. While the Hellcat has more than a few positives (as with all Tank Destroyers), it suffers from poor armor. Because of this, it's important to use the Hellcat's high speeds to relocate before an enemy has a chance to return fire.
The Hellcat is incredibly powerful, though it pales in comparison to its performance back when it used to be one of the most overpowered tanks in World of Tanks. Despite this, the M18 Hellcat is worth pursuing, especially for new tankers looking to play a Tank Destroyer.
Tank Destroyers are an interesting vehicle choice in World of Tanks; thanks to their thin armor and beefy guns, they're ideal at long-range engagements. For new players, it can be difficult to play a thinly-armored tank, but these six tanks are relatively noob-friendly.
