An argument can be made that any person becomes significantly more badass (or at least more badass-looking) when they don a trench coat, and player characters in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds are no different. If you want to find out how to obtain a trench coat of your own, then by all means read on.
A rather obvious and (depending on your specific circumstances and luck) easy way to get a trench coat is to find one out in the world, most likely off of the corpse of another player, though you’ll drop it yourself once you are killed so bear that in mind. If, however, you want a permanent trench coat, you’ll need to buy one off of the Steam Community Market.
While it’s true that those who pre-ordered the $40 Deluxe Edition of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds were granted access to a permanent trench coat, the only other way to get one is to buy it on the marketplace. As of the time of this writing, the trench coat is going for just under $100 on the Steam Community Market, and that price will likely increase as more players discover the game and demand for the trench coat rises.
Sadly, the trench coat cannot currently be found in Pioneer crates, so don’t even bother buying them if the trench coat is what you’re after.
