This guide will show players how to unlock the Abbadon Exotic Machine Gun in Destiny, only obtainable by completing the Hymns of Fire Exotic quest given by Commander Zavala. This quest will drop after players have completed the Songs from the Void Exotic quest and unlocked the Nova Mortis Exotic Machinegun.
Step 1: What Remains
To complete this step, Guardians must talk to Banshee-44 in the Tower. Banshee-44 will then give you the first real step of the Hymns of Fire quest.
Step 2: Cleansing Times
The next step is for gamers to get points from kills with Solar abilities in any activity. You need 100 points, but each kill with a Solar ability counts for five, so you only need 20 kills. You must use the class that you obtained the quest with, and thus will be stuck using the subclass that goes with it and uses Solar. You can do this naturally, or you can load up a Patrol on Earth and spawn in at the Steppes. This is a great place to farm the kills because the of three yellow-bar Hive hiding underground near the spawn.
Step 3: The Power of a Star
Once you have your Solar ability kills taken care of, the next step in Hymns of Fire is to return to the Tower and check in with Banshee-44 again.
Step 4: Burning Bright
The final step that requires effort is for you to complete the Shield Brothers Strike on the Dreadnaught. No level requirement is given, but we loaded in at 320 just to be sure. To complete this task, proceed to make your way through the Strike and defeat Valus Tlu’urn and Valus Mau’ual. Once you’re done, you’ll need a final trip to the Tower to pick up your prize.
Step 5: Catching a Star
Once you’re back at the Tower, report to Commander Zavala to complete the Hymns of Fire Exotic quest and unlock the Abbadon Exotic Machinegun.
If you’re looking for more Exotics in Destiny, be sure to unlock the Year 3 Necrochasm. It’s a quest that’s much more involved than getting the Abbadon by completing Hymns of Fire, but it’s worth it.
