Another Perspective on War
Hacksaw Ridge stands out from the typical war film by showing how non-violence can still have a place in war. In the film, Doss holds strongly to his belief that he can still serve his country in a time of war without having to sacrifice his moral values. He’s labeled as a coward and is brushed off as useless by fellow soldiers, only to end up as one of the most valuable members of his company. It’s rare to see a war movie that involves rooting for a pacifist underdog, which is why this is another reason to watch Hacksaw Ridge.
