Razer Updates Its BlackWidow Chroma Keyboard with a V2 Version

New additions include a yellow switch option and a detachable wrist pad.

A new version of Razer’s BlackWidow Chroma has officially been released as of today—improving upon the original while also adding several new features—making it one of the most appealing gaming keyboards on the market.

There are two main features that make the BlackWidow Chroma V2 stand out: a new linear and silent yellow mechanical switch option (handy if you don’t want to disturb those around you with loud clicking sounds), and a magnetic wrist pad which can be detached if you prefer playing with just the keyboard.

The yellow switch option joins the previously available green (loud and clicky) and orange (tactile and silent) versions, and the wristpad is actually the same one found on Razer’s Ornata keyboard (which also happened to make our list of the best gaming keyboards of 2017).

The V2 version also comes with all of the features found on the original BlackWidow Chroma, including:

  • A customizable backlight with 16.8 million different color combinations.
  • 10 key roll-over anti-ghosting.
  • Durable braided fiber power cable.
  • Built-in USB port and audio jack pass-throughs.

The Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 can be purchased here for $169.99.
