Fortnite Battle Royale hits 800k concurrent users

New game update released today.

Epic Games' decision to ape PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds seems to be paying off, because Fortnite Battle Royale pulled in more than 800,000 concurrent users this past weekend.

That's according to the game's official Twitter account, which apologized for issues with the servers over the weekend and pointed to the new high watermark for player numbers as a reason for the technical challenges the game sometimes faces.

Fortnite was also patched overnight, delivering a bunch of changes including the option to uncap the frame-rate on PS4 and PS4 Pro. VG247 has the full patch notes.
