Quake 4 was one of the launch titles for the Xbox 360, and offered couch gamers a chance to experience classic Quake gameplay. Meaty guns, terrifying enemies, and plenty of action was all anyone needed to immediately enjoy Quake 4. But part way into Act 2 players were given the opportunity to operate a really sci-fi tank, the Hovertank.

The Hovertank, as the name suggested, levitated off the ground. Due to the lack of tracks and suspension, there were no movement issues or terrain traversal problems. In fact, the tank slid around a little too much.

The main sticking point of the Hovertank was its weaponry. It was outfitted with typical tank weapons in the form of a massive damage-dealing main cannon, and a fast shooting machine gun. The only problem being that you couldn’t use both at the same time, as the game required you to switch between the two firing modes.
