Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream happening today.

The long-awaited sequel is almost here.

Fans of Ubisoft's offbeat action adventure Beyond Good and Evil have been clamoring for a sequel since 2003. That's a fifteen year wait. Good lord.

Thankfully, after years of rumor and false starts, that follow-up is almost here, Designer Michel Ancel, also the creator of Rayman, and his team will be presenting a livestream of "Space Monkey Report" showing where the new game is up to today at 9am PT (that's 12pm ET).

In the first game, players controlled Jade, a plucky reporter on the trail of a galactic conspiracy in a universe where humans co-exist alongside anthropomorphic animals. Set 200 years prior to the events of the original game, the new game is a prequel with a much more open approach. You'll be able to create your own character, and roam not just cities but planets and the space in between. You can rise to become the captain of your own ship, with your own hand-picked crew, and rise through the social ranks of this bizarre reality.

There will also be some sort of multiplayer, although the exact nature of this remains mysterious. Will it be revealed in today's stream? We'll have to wait and see. The last substantial look at the gameplay came last year, at E3. With this year's event looming, expect more details and revelations to emerge soon.

The stream will be available on Ubisoft's official YouTube and Twitch channels. Prepare your browser tabs accordingly.
