Nintendo Switch 4.0.1 OS update arrives to fix HDMI bugs and stability

Just in time for Mario.

The Switch 4.0 firmware update was a welcome surprise last week, adding video capture to some titles and wireless headphone support, but Nintendo has gone a step further to fix all the little bugs it introduced while giving us those features.

The 4.0.1 firmware update is available now, and should begin when you connect to the internet with you Switch, fixing a couple of small problems the big update ushered in.

Firstly, a HDMI issue that caused TVs to switch on when the Switch was docked has been fixed, and secondly – some might say more importantly – the firmware build is now much stabler.

Not that we were getting tons of crashes, but you wouldn’t want anything ruining your weekend with Mario Odyssey now would you?
