Konami announces Metal Gear Survive release date

Snaking its way onto all formats in February.

Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Survive will be released on February 20 in the US on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Metal Gear Survive is the weird-sounding Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain offshoot in which players are sent through a wormhole along with other MSF soldiers and have to fight off waves of zombies while they try to save themselves.

That doesn't actually sound that far-fetched compared to some of the nonsense that happened in The Phantom Pain, and indeed all the other Metal Gear games, but inevitably it's come under greater scrutiny since this is the first Metal Gear game to be released by Konami since the departure of series creator Hideo Kojima.

Kojima, of course, is busy making something that sounds even more peculiar. If you haven't read our Death Stranding preview, what are you waiting for?
