'Once Upon a Coma' Launches on Kickstarter

A golden opportunity to help back the latest project from Pinstripe creator, Thomas Brush.

A Kickstarter campaign launched today for Once Upon a Coma, the latest game from the mastermind behind Pinstripe, Thomas Brush. We recently interviewed Thomas Brush about Once Upon a Coma and some of the inspirations behind it, and at the interview's conclusion, were extremely excited to track the game's growth and development.

Now, fans have the unique and exciting opportunity to help back the project on Kickstarter!

For those unfamiliar with the project, Once Upon a Coma follows a young boy named Pete who awakens from a coma and realizes that the world around him isn’t exactly as he remembers. Exploring the world and utilizing the help of your childhood friends, pet bird, and father’s razor blade, you’ll slowly be able to unravel the mystery of what happened to Pete.

Despite just launching today, the Kickstarter campaign for Once Upon a Coma has already accrued over $10,000 of its $28,000 goal with 400 backers at the helm. Addressing the game’s Kickstarter goals, Thomas Brush stated:

“Full transparency: Serenity Forge's investment in the game was a year ago, and revenue from Pinstripe is certainly helpful, but this is not enough to make Once Upon A Coma what I know it can be. That's where you come in. With your support, Once Upon A Coma can be taken to the next level. I can invest more time, energy, and resources into making it one of 2018's best indie titles, I know it!"

"When I released the first Coma installment almost a decade ago, the game received resounding support from millions of players across the world, but Pete's world can be so much more. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that the Kickstarter community is, in a way, a safe-haven for indies like myself, similar to that of the Flash community years ago."

"An outlet that allows for not only pre-ordering, but also ways for you to get involved in the project, and ultimately ensure studios like mine can make great games, just like the good old days of Flash, Newgrounds, and Salad Fingers. Your support for games like Once Upon A Coma is essentially one of the few effective ways small studio’s like mine can remain in operation.”

Right now, there are a plethora of backer rewards ranging from a $5 tier all the way up to $1,000 and 29 days left on the clock to help Once Upon a Coma reach its $28,000 goal.
