Sea of Thieves Closed Beta Starts in January

Pre-order to join in on the swashbuckling fun in the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta.

Get your sea legs ready, because the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta is on the horizon. Starting on January 24th, pirate enthusiasts will have a chance to try their hand at Rare’s swashbuckling adventure for a limited time.

When is the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta? 

According to today’s announcement, the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta will begin on Wednesday, January 24th at 4:00 am PST. The Closed Beta will run for five days, ending on Monday, January 29th at midnight PST.

How to Join the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta

The Sea of Thieves Closed Beta is available to players who have either pre-ordered the game or who joined the Sea of Thieves Insider Program prior to December 1st, 2017. To pre-order Sea of Thieves and gain access to the beta test, head over to the Microsoft Store.   

Once you’re in the clear to join the Closed Beta, the Sea of Thieves tile will appear in your Xbox One game library a day before the start of the Closed Beta, at which point you can pre-load and install the game.
