The “Rocket Surf” mechanic was first introduced in the Halloween update for Fortnite Battle Royale (via the Pumpkin Launcher), and ever since, players have been itching to learn how to perform this crazy move.
Despite the mechanic being introduced a few solid months back, it’s apparently still alive and functional within Fortnite Battle Royale. This is excellent news, especially for players who’ve yet to fully master the skill of Rocket Surfing.
If you’re still struggling to perform this manuever, we’ve got you covered. Below, you’ll find a quick guide on how to Rocket Surf in Fortnite Battle Royale!
How to Rocket Surf in Fortnite Battle Royale
The first thing you’ll need when learning how to Rocket Surf in Fortnite Battle Royale is a second player. This can be easily taken care of if you have a go-to friend for Duos in Fortnite Battle Royale.
With a teammate by your side, you’ll need to sift through some of the best loot locations in Fortnite Battle Royale together until one you comes across a Rocket Launcher.
Once you’ve found your Rocket Launcher, you can either head up to a high vantage point or (to make things easier) build yourself a set or two of stairs.
Next, stand on the stairs and have your teammate fire a rocket at a slightly upwards angle in order to have the rocket shoot underneath your feet. Alternatively (if you’d prefer to go straight rather than up), have your teammate fire the rocket at an even level with you. This can be accomplished by having them build their own set of stairs to stand on.
It’ll take a bit of practice to not only master the correct rocket angle but also the part where you have to step off your set of stairs right after the rocket is fired in order to step onto the rocket.
Upon mastering the art of stepping onto the rocket, you’ll be able to freely experience the thrills of Rocket Surfing in Fortnite Battle Royale!
