The notorious SAG-AFTRA voice actor strike caused some notable complications in the world of video games. One such complication centered around the Life is Strange prequel, Before the Storm. Due to the strike, the original voice actress behind Chloe Price, Ashly Burch, wound up being unable to voice the character in Before the Storm. Instead, the role went to voice actress Rhianna DeVries.
Despite not voicing Chloe in the prequel, Burch was able to participate in the project by acting as a script consultant in effort to ensure Deck Nine properly captured Chloe’s spirit. Due to SAG-AFTRA and its constituents reaching a settlement with major game publishers back in early November of this year (after almost 2 years of negotiations), Burch is once again ready to take on the role of Chloe Price.
In fact, both Burch and Max Caulfield’s original voice actress, Hannah Telle, will be reuniting for a special bonus episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm entitled “Farewell.” The bonus episode will reportedly take place 5 years prior to the events in the original Life is Strange, and will give players the ability to take on the role of Max Caulfield one last time.
To experience the dynamic Chloe/Max duo once more, be sure to pick up a copy of Life is Strange: Before the Storm Deluxe Edition which includes episodes 1-3 of Before the Storm as well as the special “Farewell” bonus episode.
