The deliciously quirky cooking adventure Battle Chef Brigade launched today for Nintendo Switch and PC. An official launch trailer from developer Trinket Studios shows off the game’s unique cooking puzzles and RPG mechanics.
In Battle Chef Brigade, players follow two contestants on their journey through a cooking competition. The goal is to become a Brigadier by hunting monsters and subsequently turning them into delicious cuisine in the cooking tournament.
Battle Chef Brigade is essentially two games in one. There’s the monster hunting aspect, which requires the use of combo-based attacks to slay monsters in a hand-drawn, 2D campaign. Then there’s the puzzle-based cooking, which involves quickly solving match-3 puzzles to create various dishes with the creatures you’ve slain. The game blends RPG progression with fast-paced puzzle mechanics to create a cooking game that truly stands out.
