Warframe's Plains of Eidolon Update Comes to Consoles November 14th

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will finally be able to explore the update’s open landscape.

After a successful PC launch last month, Digital Extremes has announced that Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update (an update which introduces open-world exploration) will be launching for the game’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions next week on Tuesday, November 14th.

Unsurprisingly, the most popular feature included in the Plains of Eidolon update is the massive new Landscape zone, an expansive open outdoor area which players of any level can freely explore. Helpful NPC’s will offer quests that can be undertaken and completed for XP rewards, or players can simply explore, engage in random encounters with enemy Grineer, and even participate in mini-games like fishing.

When night falls, the entire dynamic of the Landscape will shift as the titular Teralyst Eidolon rises from the depths and patrols the plains, attacking any players it encounters. The Eidolon can be felled, but it will take a group of highly skilled and highly coordinated players to bring the beat down.

Along with the outdoor Landscape zone, Plains of Eidolon also brings a new playable Warframe into the mix, the debuff-focused Gara. Lastly, the update includes other miscellaneous tweaks and additions such as new weapons, armor, mods, a 2.0 rework of the game’s Focus system, and more.

The Plains of Eidolon update is scheduled to launch simultaneously for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 14th, so console players who've been eagerly awaiting the update’s arrival should mark their calendars.

Now’s also as good a time to familiarize yourself with our previously published guides for Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update. Back when the update launched for PC, we covered how to reach the new Landscape zone and how to go fishing once you’re there
