Fortnite: How to Get More V-Bucks for the Item Shop

Learn how to get more V-Bucks in Fortnite to buy items from the Battle Royale item shop.

Fortnite’s latest update added a new item shop to Battle Royale, selling an assortment of new outfits, weapons, and cosmetic items for your characters. Players can purchase cosmetic items from the item shop using V-Bucks, which is the in-game currency used in Fortnite. This guide will explain the best ways to earn V-Bucks in Fortnite for players who want to buy customizations from the Item Shop and Season Shop.

V-Bucks are required to purchase items from the new Battle Royale Item Shop in Fortnite.

Daily Quests & Login

One of the most consistent ways to earn V-Bucks in Fortnite is to log into the game each day and complete daily quests. When you log in for the first time each day, your random daily reward may contain V-Bucks. Additionally, daily quests typically reward about 50 V-Bucks upon completion.

Daily quests will change each day. Get in the habit of doing daily quests when you login to ensure you don’t miss out on earning some easy V-Bucks in Fortnite.

Main Quests & Side Quests

The main story quests in Fortnite usually offer the most V-Bucks upon completion, but even side quests like Shield Defense can offer a decent payout of V-Bucks as well. Open each of the quests in your Quests tab and focus on completing the ones that reward the highest number of V-Bucks to boost your earnings in Fortnite.

Don’t Forget Challenges

Challenges can be completed alongside quests for additional V-Bucks in Fortnite. Challenges consist of broader objectives that are achieved on top of the main objectives of a quest. For example, a Challenge may require you to complete as many missions as possible or achieve a certain goal. Check your Challenges regularly and continuously make progress toward completing each one to earn extra V-Bucks. The only downside to Challenges is that they cap out at level 10, making them a limited source of V-Bucks overall.

Help with Outpost Defense

Players can earn additional V-Bucks by helping other players defend their outpost in Fortnite. Team up with a friend or join another player who needs assistance and help them defend their outpost. This is a relatively easy way to earn some extra V-Bucks outside of the regular quests.

Add to the Collection Book

Adding duplicate heroes, survivors, and schematics cards to the Collection Book is another easy way to earn V-Bucks fast in Fortnite, depending on your level. You can earn up to 500 V-Bucks all at once just by leveling up your Collection Book.

While you may be tempted to start adding a ton of survivors and heroes to the Collection Book, we don’t recommend doing it this way. Since the Collection Book permanently retires whatever hero or item you add to it, it’s best to only add things that you have a duplicate card for, so that you don’t lose a valuable hero, survivor, or schematic. When used properly, the Collection Book is a great source of V-Bucks in Fortnite.

Buy V-Bucks

Of course, if you don’t mind spending real money on the game, there is always the option to purchase bundles of V-Bucks directly from the in-game store. Higher quantity V-Bucks bundles come with additional bonus V-Bucks as an incentive. Here’s how the costs break down in USD for each V-Bucks bundle in the store:

  • 1000 - $9.99
  • 2500 (+300 Bonus) - $24.99
  • 6000 (+1500 Bonus) - $59.99
  • 10000 (+3500 Bonus) - $99.99

Now that you know how to obtain V-Bucks in Fortnite, you should be able to purchase some of the new cosmetic items from the Battle Royale item shop, as well as the Season Shop when it becomes available.
