The Binding of Isaac is the perfect example of a roguelike dungeon crawler that always manages to throw you a curveball. It’s this element of uncertainty that makes The Binding of Isaac so addicting.

It doesn’t matter which version you choose to play, including the newly released The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth + for Nintendo Switch. You will die in this game… a lot. If that sounds like the kind of Cuphead-esque experience you’re looking for, The Binding of Isaac is a must-buy.

Have you ever felt the urge to punch your friends in the face while playing a game? If the answer is no, you should definitely look up 1001 Spikes. The key to playing 1001 Spikes is precision.

Not just your own precision, but watching out for your teammate’s clumsy mistakes. As you can guess from the title, you’ll find yourself working hard to evade the game’s countless assortment of deadly spikes. The worst part? Many of them come as a nasty surprise.

The surprise element reminded us of Cuphead the most, as you never know what lurks for you as you make your way from one level to the next.
