Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn follows close behind The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as one of the top games of 2017. However, its soundtrack is no slouch either. Featuring songs by both Joris de Man and The Flight, the Horizon Zero Dawn soundtrack will transport you to another world.
If you’ve played through the game, you’ll be able to attach important moments to each track. This showcases just how well each song fits into the context of the game’s story. Whether or not you like the style that backs Horizon Zero Dawn’s soundtrack, you cannot deny that it has been expertly crafted.
Hollow Knight
One of the surprise indie hits to come out of 2017 is Hollow Knight from developer Team Cherry. This addicting side-scroller captivated us from the moment we jumped in thanks, in part, to the game’s incredible soundtrack.
Each song resonates with its own emotion and atmosphere, with some taking on an entirely new meaning when listened to outside of Hollow Knight. Despite being an indie, Hollow Knight and its accompanying soundtrack have no trouble standing alongside AAA powerhouses as one of the best games of the year.
