Some Slime Rancher players suggest looking in the Indigo Quarry, and we have to admit we were able to get a few Strange Diamonds while we were there, so this may be a worthwhile place to start. Despite the fact that there’s no particular “where” when it comes to finding Strange Diamonds, improving your drill is hands-down one way to increase your odds of finding Strange Diamonds in Slime Rancher.

The key to finding Strange Diamonds in Slime Rancher is setting up advanced drills.

Knowing how to improve your drill in Slime Rancher has a variety of benefits, such as increasing the amount of Strange Diamonds you find. The trick is to set up as many drills as possible in Slime Rancher. Although, you may be wondering what drill in particular you should use. To find more Strange Diamonds, you’ll want to use the most advanced drill possible. There are four different drill stages, each of which has a different blueprint.

  • Novice Drill: You'll have the blueprint for the Novice Drill on hand by default.
  • Advanced Drill: You can purchase the blueprint in the Builder’s Shop.
  • Master Drill: The Master Drill blueprint is located in a Treasure Pod in the Glass Desert. You’ll need a Treasure Cracker upgrade.
  • Titan Drill: You’ll earn this blueprint as a reward for reaching Rank 23 with 7Zee.

To build yourself a drill, you’ll need to have Pink and Rad Plorts on hand in addition to Rock Plorts for the first two drills, and Mosaic Plorts for the last two. After that, simply set your drills up and do a bit of trial and error to find the best spots. You can start in the Indigo Quarry, although if you aren’t satisfied with the amount of Strange Diamonds you’re finding, you can always adjust your drill locations accordingly.
