Recap some of the best indie games on Steam this week.

All aboard the Indie Steam Train, our weekly roundup showcasing some top indie titles available on Steam. Wondering what indies came out this week? Looking for a new game to add to your Steam Library? Well, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

After digging through the latest and greatest indie titles, we’ve tracked down a handful of games worth checking out in Steam!

Night in the Woods

Starting off this week’s Indie Steam Train is Night in the Woods by Finji and Alec Holowka. Night in the Woods is a gorgeous exploration game starring the relatable feline protagonist, Mae Borowski.

After a bittersweet homecoming, Mae wanders through her childhood hometown of Possum Springs reconnecting with everything she thought she left behind for good.

As the game's narrative unfolds, you'll find yourself truly connecting to Mae's path of self-discovery as she contemplates the world around her. Additionally, there's something strange lurking out in the woods which adds a nice element of mystery to the story. Buy Night in the Woods on Steam.

Northgard

If you’re a fan of games like The Banner Saga and Sid Meier’s Civilization, you’ll love Northgard by Shiro Games. Northgard is a real-time strategy title based around Norse mythology. In the game, you control a group of Vikings fighting for control of a newly discovered continent.

In order to stand tall above the rest, you’ll need to build a solid settlement, closely manage your resources, and achieve success across various different victory conditions. This game is perfect for fans of strategy, adventure, and rich lore. Buy Northgard on Steam.

Pixel Privateers

If you’ve been longing for a new sci-fi strategy game, you should definitely check out Pixel Privateers by Quadro Delta. Pixel Privateers is a squad-based tactical RPG where you’re responsible for leading a team of mercenaries through a strange wormhole.

After emerging from the wormhole, you'll embark on a mission to gather new technology for your employer. Pixel Privateers offers an entire galaxy of worlds to explore and countless ways to strategically maneuver your squad. The highlight of this indie is definitely the way you play, which is left entirely up to you. Buy Pixel Privateers on Steam.

Shift Happens

While the games listed above are great, they’re primarily single-player experiences. For those of you seeking a game to play alongside a friend, Shift Happens by Klonk Games is the perfect fit. This fantastic cooperative platformer experience tasks you and a buddy with having to work in unison to solve puzzles.

There are four increasingly difficult stages in Shift Happens which can be navigated through by tossing around the game's two wriggly characters, Plom and Bismo. This dynamic duo is able to exchange their size and abilities at will, giving you and your friend plenty of ways to complete the game's multitude of challenges. Buy Shift Happens on Steam.

Finding Bigfoot

Continuing our tradition of revisiting games that came out a little farther back, we have Finding Bigfoot by CyberLight which released to Steam on January 31st. Finding Bigfoot is a game perfect for fans of The X-Files and Twin Peaks… as well as all of those quirky TV shows attempting to prove the existence of Bigfoot!

Finding Bigfoot is truly a hidden indie gem as you get to explore a creepy national park in an attempt to unravel the mysterious disappearance of a group of tourists. Tracking down the elusive creature is harder than you might think, especially considering you don't want it to find you first! Buy Finding Bigfoot on Steam.
