Journey and Ico Fans Will Love Rime

Upcoming puzzle-adventure indie game Rime will attract fans of Journey and Ico with its new trailer.

Fans of games such as Journey, Ico, and Legend of Zelda’s Wind Waker will find a lot to enjoy about the upcoming puzzle-adventure game, Rime. Although, Rime isn’t necessarily a newly announced title. The last we heard of this game was in March of last year when the developer, Tequila Works, took back the rights to the game after Sony decidedly pulled its publishing deal. This resulted in news that the upcoming indie title would no longer be considered as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Rime was initially revealed at Gamescom back in 2013 where its gameplay footage showed elements similar to that of Abzu, Journey, and Ico. A young boy explored a beautiful island decorated in ruins from a long abandoned ancient civilization. In his adventures, he solved environmental puzzles and encountered mysterious shadowy figures.

Following this, another trailer was revealed at Gamescom in 2014. In this trailer, we see the young boy again, exploring the same island as before. This time, we get a taste of the wildlife, and various structures that the boy interacts with. We also see the boy riding on what was once a shadowy figure in the previous trailer. Earlier today, news emerged alongside a new trailer that debuted in the January IGN First, where the developers confirmed that Rime will be releasing for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch. On the official Rime website, it’s been announced that more news surrounding the title is expected to come in early 2017.
