Developer Talks: Grow Up's Dale Scullion

We sit down with Grow Up developer Dale Scullion to discuss his upcoming game.

While attending the recent PAX West gaming convention, we got to interview a number of indie developers about their new and upcoming games. One such developer was Dale Scullion, the lead designer for the indie sequel title Grow Up.

Grow Up is a sequel to the hit indie game Grow Home, however this time around returning protagonist BUD (Botanical Utility Droid) must utilize new acrobatic movements and growable plants to navigate an even larger world than Grow Home’s. One of the new abilities BUD sports in Grow Up is a scanner that lets him scan any plant he finds, then BUD can use that plant to traverse the environment. BUD can also call on his new friend POD (Planetary Observation Droid) to get a bird’s eye view of the planet he is on. Scullion also confirmed in the interview that the trademark humor of Grow Home has remained intact for Grow Up.

Grow Up is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
