What Is The Pokemon GO Plus and How Can You Buy It?

Ways avid Pokemon GO players can get their hands on the new Pokemon GO Plus accessory.

Nintendo and Niantic labs officially announced the release date for their highly-anticipated Pokemon GO accessory, the Pokemon GO Plus. Scheduled to release on September 16th, the Pokemon GO Plus is a device that connects to your phone via Bluetooth. The accessory was designed to allow players to play the game without having to constantly keep their phone open.

How Does The Pokemon GO Plus Work?

Pokemon GO players will be able to clip the Pokemon GO Plus to themselves, or attach it like a watch with the included wrist strap. When players pass a Pokestop or nearby Pokemon, the Pokemon GO Plus will light up and vibrate. Pressing the button on the Pokemon GO Plus will allow you to collect items from said Pokestop, or catch the nearby Pokemon. You will have to open your journal to see just what you’ve collected, but it acts as a great medium for players on the go.

If this sounds like just the accessory for you, there are a few things to keep in mind. The Pokemon GO Plus does not alert you to any Pokemon attracted by using the Incense item, and it does not track distance walked while running in the background. In order to use the Pokemon GO Plus you will need to download an app update to connect the device.

The Pokemon GO Plus is compatible with the following mobile operating systems:

iOS 8-9

Compatible with: iPhone 5/5c/5s/SE/6/6s/6 Plus/6s Plus

Android 4.4 - 6.0

Compatible with: Android 4.4 or higher that have Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth v4.0 or higher) capability and RAM2GB or more.

How Can I Buy The Pokemon GO Plus?

The pressing question now is, how much does it cost and how can I buy the Pokemon GO Plus? The Pokemon GO Plus will retail for $34.99 and can be purchased through several major retailers including Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, eBay, and many more.
