Start A Riot In Devolver's New Prison Game SCUM

Why we can’t wait to play this open-world survival game.

Devolver Digital announced the brand new open-world survival game with the memorable title of SCUM. If the name alone is not enough to get you intrigued, the gameplay elements certainly will. According to Devolver’s official press release:

“Scum evolves the multiplayer open world survival game with unprecedented levels of character customization, control, and progression where knowledge and skills are the ultimate weapons for long-term survival. Players will balance base level needs with knowledge-based skills to manage everything from nourishment, metabolic rate, body mass to weapons proficiency, combat style, and security systems hacking. Dominate the island with your skills, cunning, and strategies to achieve higher levels and receive powerful gifts from corporate sponsors and, if you happen to slip up and die, get resurrected by the show’s producers with all your valuable skills intact.”

Fans of open-world survival games will certainly be thrilled to hear that last part, knowing that death in SCUM will not permanently wipe their skills. Players know there’s nothing more frustrating than making a minor error, and having hours of hard work wiped clean.

“SCUM is a big leap forward in survival games,” explains Tomislav Pongrac, Gamepires project lead. "We've implemented new, intricate systems behind common elements of the genre to produce exhilarating new gameplay scenarios.”

Unfortunately, beyond what was revealed in Devolver’s press release, no additional information is known save for the fact that the game is being co-developed with Croteam and Gamepires. SCUM is projected to have an Early Access PC release date sometime in 2017. To keep up with the game you can check out SCUM’s official website, and follow the team on Twitter .
