No Man's Sky Captain's Log - Page 2

Boldly go where no man has gone before in No Man's Sky.

Entry 06

My trusty Scanner was correct. With a quick click it sends out a pulse that highlights nearby minerals, from Oxides to Silicates, and even Isotopes. These appear to be the base elements, with each type of mineral falling into one of these three. Though I am certain I will find this to be different once I journey to other planets. That is, of course, so long as I can repair the ship. Which I can do now, thanks to my Scanner finding the Heridium deposits.

Entry 07

Rasamama is repaired. And I even went out once again and found some Thamium9 in order to refill the tanks. We’re fuelled up and ready to leave. Farewell, Loxtovac Nashim. Launching in 3… 2… 1…

Entry 08

Breaking orbit was beautiful. The pink sky peeled away as Rasamama pushed through the upper atmosphere and into the twinkling darkness of space. I took a moment to gather my thoughts and plan my next move.

I may have only spent a couple of day-cycles exploring Loxtovac Nashim, but it’s so far my very first memory of this universe. It was sad saying goodbye. But now I’m standing in a pyramid space station, talking with an alien lifeform. I cannot understand its garbled speech but I believe it wants one of the rare minerals I found. I think I’m going to hand it over.

Entry 09

It turns out the lifeform was able to teach me two of its alien words: “rare” which makes sense considering it wanted my rare minerals, and “warn” which is a little more foreboding. I’m about to launch out of this space station and head to another planet. I’ve received a transmission from a beacon that has originated in this area.

I’m going to check it out. My next goal is to create a Hyperdrive to let me travel between systems. I am quietly joyful at the idea of exploring this universe, though I feel as if there is an underlying mystery to this place. Only time will tell. This is Captain Sam of Rasamama S36, signing off.
