No Man's Sky Captain's Log

Boldly go where no man has gone before in No Man's Sky.

Entry 01

I’ve awoken on a planet that my system tells me is called Loxtovac Nashim. I have no memory of arriving here, nor do I recognise the ship crashed in the crater with me, but from where I’m sitting, it must be mine and I must have been thrown from the cockpit. The temperature is currently -86 degrees Fahrenheit and my life support is slowly fading. I need to begin searching for resources to make repairs on both my ship, and myself.

As far as I can tell, the only systems that are damaged on the ship are the Launch Thruster and the Pulse Engine. I need the Thrusters to get me off the ground and the Pulse Engine to get me off this planet. The Thrusters need more Carite Sheets, which means I need to find some Iron. Before I head out, I’m going to inspect this red orb.

Entry 02

The red orb spoke to me. I see nothing peculiar about this. I will follow its directions. It has asked that I seek someone. I plan to do just that. But, first thing’s first: repair Rasamama S36, my ship. I see some resources in the distance. That’s my target.

Entry 03

I never made it to the target resources. I fell into a crevice in the ground and, forgetting I had a jetpack strapped to my back, landed poorly and damaged my legs. Luckily these red plants appear to fix the broken bones entirely. The drop down was too high for my jetpack to breach, so I spent some time exploring what turned out to be an extensive cave network. I’m pleased to say I have discovered a new species of crab in the cave.

They were extremely hostile toward me. Plant life on Loxtovac Nashim is thriving, even deep within the caves. I found several forms of glowing fungi and what appears to be glowing rock. Everything has been catalogued and uploaded. I have received quite the compensation for my hard work, 2000 credits for every new fauna uploaded.

I ended up finding a way out of the cave system. It deposited me right beside my ship. Though I’m no closer to repairing Rasamama. I think I’ll try the opposite direction. I have my Multi-Tool with its Mining Beam and I’m well provisioned.

Entry 04

My Multi-Tool is completely depleted and I’m freezing to death.

Entry 05

I made it back to Rasamama by the skin of my teeth. I quickly discovered that I can use the resources I find to recharge my Multi-Tool. Its battery depleted because I mined a bit too passionately. Good news though, the Launch Thrusters are fixed. I now need to repair my Engine by finding some Heridium deposits. If my Scanner has the right of it, the large purple blocks should hold the precious mineral.
