Sid Meier's Civilization 6 Scores Major Voice Actor

Fans of Sid Meier’s Civilization series who have witnessed the game’s recent E3 trailer were no doubt delighted to hear the iconic voice of British actor Sean Bean (who’s famous for his portrayal as the stoic Ned Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones TV adaptation) narrating the trailer, and now it has been confirmed that Sean Bean’s involvement with the game doesn’t end there. Sean Bean will also be providing narration for the historic quotes which pop up whenever a Civilization 6 player successfully researches a new item in the game’s well-established Technology Tree, as well as the brand new Civics Tree which is making its debut in Civilization 6.

This isn’t Sean Bean’s first time providing voice work for a video game project. Dedicated Elder Scrolls fans likely remember that Bean voiced the character Martin Septim (the illegitimate son of the Emperor Uriel Septim voiced by Sir Patrick Stewart) in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In addition, Bean also provided narration for the 2015 indie horror-adventure game Kholat. Previous Tech Tree narrators have included Leonard Nimoy, the beloved Star Trek actor who sadly passed away last year, in Civilization 4, and Morgan Sheppard in Civilization 5.
