Fuses can be bought from the various traders you’ll encounter throughout Dead Island 2. Each trader only stocks a limited supply, and we would always recommend buying them when you’ve got the cash available. Fuse-locked doors pop up all over the place, often quite far out of the way from traders, meaning you won’t want to make the long trek back and forth between them.

The first trader you’ll have the chance to meet can be found in the kitchen of Emma Jaunt’s place, just to the left of the work bench. Speak with him and you’ll be able to pick up a couple of fuses for $1,500 each that will let you unlock stashes early in the game. Once you have those rare weapons, read our tips and tricks to ensure you’re using them properly.

Fuses are a rare commodity, and you’ll start off fairly powerful anyway in Dead Island 2. As such, you may want to consider holding on to some until you feel like your weapons are beginning to fall off the power curve. When that happens, open up the next fuse door you find and you’ll almost certainly be rewarded with a powerful tool to work with.

Now that you know how to get fuses in Dead Island 2, make sure you keep track of every trader you encounter as you’re out exploring the world. Most are encountered as part of the story, so progressing there will open up new opportunities to buy more fuses. If you’re looking for other opportunities to grab rare weapons early, check out our guides for Brock’s Safe Key, Coach’s Car Keys, and all Halperin Hotel Safe Deposit Key locations, each one will reward you with gear to lay the smack down on the undead.
