Steam NextFest kicks off with discounts and demos all this week

Celebration of upcoming PC games features plenty of demos to fill up your Steam wishlist.

Steam NextFest, the irregularly recurring celebration of upcoming games on the PC's most accessible storefront, is on now until February 13.

Unreleased games big and small have demos available to download right now, as well as discounts on released games and livestreams of titles from smaller developers to help you pick and choose new adventures.

Among the games with demos to try out you'll find asymmetrical multiplayer FPS game Meet Your Maker, where one player builds a base while others attempt to ascend their construction. There are also dozens of cute-looking games, including Mika and The Witch's Mountain, a very direct homage to Studio Ghibli's 1989 anime film Kiki's Delivery Service which is currently running a Kickstarter campaign that blasted through goal within the first 48 hours.

There's also the sequel to turn-based tactics crawler Darkest Dungeon, a bucketful of base-building games and a relaxing game where you build your ideal desktop PC setup. You can also just do that IRL with our interior design tips for the perfect PC setup if you want, and make your actual desktop as relaxing as you want.

We've had a dig through the Steam NextFest demos for some choice picks to pay attention to in the coming months, and to add to your wishlists so you're ready for when they do come out.

There are also rolling discounts on games that are already out, including Midweek Madness sales on piratical plunderer Sea of Thieves (50% off) and vaguely catholic metroidvania Blasphemous (75% off) if those take your fancy.

You can check out all the discounts, demos and livestreams going on during Steam NextFest this week by heading to the Steam page or opening your Steam client.
