Deliver Us Mars (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)

  • Release date: February 2

The next title from Deliver Us the Moon developer KeokeN Interactive, Deliver Us Mars is a sci-fi adventure in which humanity is on the brink of extinction. The story follows a team’s mission to recover colony ships stolen by a mysterious force called the Outward. If it can measure up to the story of the first game, Deliver Us Mars will be a must-play for any eager astronauts.

Hogwarts Legacy (PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch)

  • Release date: February 10

Set before the events of the Harry Potter books and movies, Hogwarts Legacy promises the chance to sign up at the famous school of magic, take part in lessons, and investigate the mystery of the land’s returning ancient magic and apparently imminent goblin rebellion.

Atomic Heart (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)

  • Release date: February 20

Potentially one of the strangest games releasing in 2023, Atomic Heart is an open world FPS set in a dystopian world of assistant machines gone very, very wrong. The mechanized monsters at play here aren’t your average Terminator, though. Expect to face off against rolling balls with tentacle legs, scythe-wielding cooking bots, and much worse. Fortunately, you’ve got access to your own suite of unconventional weaponry and powers that might just see you through Atomic Heart’s challenging combat.

Like a Dragon: Ishin (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)

  • Release date: February 21

Like a Dragon: Ishin is an action spin-off from Ryu Ga Gotoku’s Yakuza series, and more than that, it’s a remake of a 2014 title which released in Japan only. The premise is brilliantly silly, taking many of the core series’ famous characters and placing them in a tale set in late 19th-century Japan. Lone samurai Sakamoto Ryoma is on a journey to avenge his father’s killer in Kyoto and clear his name in a framed murder. Expect swords, a few guns, and plenty of not-quite-true-to-history antics.

Horizon Call of the Mountain (PS5, PS VR 2)

  • Release date: February 22

The PS5’s exciting and powerful VR headset launches in February, and there are plenty of PS VR 2 launch games arriving on or around the same day. Most exciting of all is Horizon Call of the Mountain a VR newcomer friendly title which takes us into Aloy’s world of deadly machine dinosaurs. It looks like a visual showcase for the new headset, and will offer the chance to see how our archery skills match up with Aloy’s own.

Sons of the Forest (PC)

  • Release date: February 23

highly successful open-world horror survival game The Forest finally gets its sequel this month. Sons of the Forest has a far more narrative opening, but you’ll still be attempting to stay alive in a tree-packed landscape of unwelcoming cannibals and unspeakable horrors. Load up a game with friends and work together as you build up a base and the resources to locate a missing billionaire somewhere on an island that literally wants to eat you alive.

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe (Switch)

  • Release date: February 24

Kiry’s Wii outing has been reimagined for Switch. Return to Dreamland brings four-play co-op to the colorful side-scrolling platformer, letting players control the pink puff himself, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee. The new Mecha Copy ability lets the kirbster transform into a robot and fly through the sky, firing off cannon shots or punching foes up close with mechanized fists. And when you need a break from the story, Return to Dreamland Deluxe include a number of Mario Party-style minigames to chill out with.

Scars Above (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)

  • Release date: February 27

Enjoyed the challenge of Returnal? Stars Above’s sci-fi setting and brutal combat may help you scratch that same itch. A mysterious alien structure has appeared in Earth’s orbit, and it’s your job to go and say hello. The resulting meeting sees you and your team transported to a harsh and unwelcoming alien planet filled with aggressive creatures. Cue seriously tough third-person shooting and dodge rolling as you attempt to survive and maybe figure out what went wrong.

Destiny 2: Lightfall (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)

  • Release date: February 28

The next chapter of Destiny 2’s story takes Guardians to the neon-lit city of Neomuna. The new power of the Strand brings three new class types to the game: Warlock Broodweaver, Hunter Threadrunner, and Titan Berserker. The new campaign arrives with new weapons and pinnacle challenges, a new raid, and even the return of Legendary difficulty.
