Persona 5 is actually coming to Nintendo Switch, along with 3 and 4

Persona 3, 4 and 5 definitive editions will release on Nintendo Switch alongside PC and Xbox on October 21.

Persona 5 will finally get a Nintendo Switch release alongside 3 and 4 when all three games release on non-PlayStation consoles and PC starting from October 21.

More specifically, the definitive versions of each school-life JRPG (Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal) will finally make the jump to Nintendo's handheld, with Persona 5 Royal available to pre-order now for the October release date.

The news comes after Nintendo's Mini Direct partner showcase today, which revealed a few more hotly anticipated release dates but Persona's long-rumored addition to the Switch library formed the biggest jewel of the show.

Rumors of Persona 5 coming to Switch stretch back to before the reveal of musou spin-off Persona 5 Strikers, originally titled Scramble, which was thought to be a portable version of the original JRPG release. Instead we get the updated and extended Royal, featuring an additional term of school time and a new ending.

All three games are also arriving on PC via Steam and Windows Store, as well as Xbox via the Game Pass subscription. However Persona 4 Golden was built to be played on the go as a PS Vita title, so it's nice to see that dream kept alive.

You can pre-order Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo Switch now, for an October 21 release this year.
