Microsoft has announced a raft of events, new merch and a game giveaway to celebrate Pride Month for Xbox fans and LGBTQ+ gamers in general.
This month, Xbox players can claim a free copy of Tell Me Why, Don't Nod's 2020 story about a pair of twins uncovering their family's past with supernatural powers. On the subject of trans acceptance and support, Microsoft will also be donating $25,000 each to charities that support trans, non-binary and genderqueer young people, amidst an alarming rise in anti-trans sentiment over the past year.
Other avenues for fans to show their own support include an array of colorful merch, with the launch of the line-up accompanying a $170,000 donation to a range of organizations, including UK-based trans youth support charity Mermaids and international organization OutRight Action.
Part of the new merch line includes a Design Lab controller spec that includes 34 different pride flags, making for a cornucopia of color on your controller. The design will be available from the Design Lab customizer on June 9.
In-game merch includes a Halo Emblem and Nameplate to show your pride, and a fancy rainbow livery in Forza Horizon 5, 4 and Motorsport 7. There are also plenty of streams and events happening over the next month to highlight inclusive communities, games, developers and content creators that make gaming a more diverse industry.
