To whistle in Sniper Elite 5, open the inventory wheel radial menu (hold L1 on PlayStation, LB on Xbox) and then use the right analog stick to select the Whistle. By default, it’ll be to the top right of the menu. Once it’s selected, release the radial menu button. You can tell the whistle is selected when its icon appears next to your equipped weapon in the bottom corner of the screen.

With the Whistle selected, you can whistle by holding R1/RB. Karl will emit a small noise that will alert any nearby guards within earshot. You'll see a message saying tha the sound was heard, then they'll begin to search the area the noise came from. You’ll want to move quickly if you don’t want to be detected shortly afterwards.

The game’s opening level will take you through the mechanics for how to whistle, which should let you know just how important the ability is. Whistling is best done from a point of cover, either behind a wall or within long grass that’ll mask your position. You can then quickly move to a new place to pass or ambush your distracted target. Use it along with bottles to clear paths without noisy gunfire.

That’s everything there is to know about how to whistle in Sniper Elite 5. You won’t be getting any slow-mo whistle cam shots, but it’s still an extremely useful tool for staying stealthy and navigating through Sniper Elite 5’s levels.
