Monster Hunter World has sold more than any other game in Capcom’s history.
Capcom announced that the game has shipped 7.5m copies (combining physical and digital sales), putting it higher than any title in the Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mega Man and Dead Rising series. The game’s success pushes Monster Hunter series sales up to a total of 48m.
Most impressive is that the World has earned this badge in just five weeks since it launched on January 26. The long running series has always been popular in Japan but has now broken into the Western market too.
Better yet, the PC version of World is yet to come, launching later this year in an autumn (fall) window. If handled well, the PC release could easily push the series sales over 50m.Load Comments
