Xbox's boss, Phil Spencer, is moving on up

The boss becomes more bossy.

According to Business Insider, Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has received a significant promotion, now reporting directly to the company CEO, Satya Nadella.

Spencer has worked at Microsoft since 1988 and didn’t take the reigns over Xbox until 2014. His fancy, new job title of Executive Vice President of Gaming comes following a structural reorganization by the company in July. In this position, Spencer will report to Nadella as part of his executive leadership team. We’ll have to wait and see if this results in a bigger emphasis in gaming at the company, but it’s nice to see Microsoft acknowledging their powerful presence in the sector.
