A new activity introduced in Horizon Forbidden West is Vista Points. These memories of the old world task you with lining up holographic images with the surrounding environment. The first Horizon Forbidden West Vista Point is encountered in The Daunt area, and it asks you to find a bridge and position of a former house. The Daunt Vista Point in Horizon Forbidden West is activated by inspecting a tower south of Chainscrape using your Focus. It’ll ask you to find where an image of a bridge and a house fit into the nearby landscape. The place you’re looking for is on slightly higher land, a short distance northeast of the tower, as marked on the map above. It's just above the river as it curves around to the east.
You’ll need to face towards the river to your south, lining up such that the remnants of the bridge in the actual world merge with the holographic image. There's a rusted metal post from the old world which should be close on your right when in the correct spot. Make sure you have the Focus view open (R3) when you’re roughly in the right spot. You might need to shimmy back and forth to get the hologram to line up perfectly, but eventually you’ll trigger a merging process that’ll see Aloy comment on the view.

Once you do complete The Daunt Vista Point, you’ll gain some experience and unlock a data file pertaining to the view captured. Vista Points were created by Sobeck’s company to preserve memories of certain areas, making them an intriguing glimpse into the past of Horizon’s world.

The Daunt Vista Point is the first one you’ll encounter, and well worth completing for the hefty experience bonus it grants. It also teaches the basic skills needed to complete other Vista Points. In short, you won’t typically have to travel far to complete the mission, so don’t worry about riding off on a mount while hunting.
