The iconic one-on-one fighting game duels of Street Fighter are halfway to seventy this year. To kick off the celebratory year, Capcom has revealed a 35th Anniversary logo.
The text “Street Fighter Anniversary” can be read behind a giant “35th” styled in a similar font to the original Street Fighter logo.
The English language Street Fighter Twitter account shared the logo with emoji inputs for a hadouken and a brief message marking the milestone.

“HERE COMES A NEW ANNIVERSARY!” The Tweet reads. “Cheers to 35 years of epic fights, fireballs and iconic rivalries!”
The Japanese Street Fighter Twitter account posted a longer message (thanks VGC), inviting fans to “look forward to the future development of the … series”
Expectations are high for Capcom’s long-running fist (not to mention leg, knee, and fireball) fighter this year, too. Street Fighter 5 was released back in 2016, and has since received a huge wealth of DLC additions and new releases including the 2017 Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition and the 2020 Street Fighter 5: Champsion Edition.
The game wrapped up its post-launch content with the addition of newcomer Luke, a character Capcom promised was pivotal to the future of the series. As such, expectations are that Capcom will celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary with the reveal of Street Fighter 6 in 2022. As for when the news will arrive and if we can expect any other celebrations to mark the event? We'll have to wait and see what punches 2022 throws.
