Blizzard employee and high-profile lawyer Lisa Bloom hold press conference demanding changes

Bloom is encouraging more victims to come forward.

Today, a famous lawyer, Lisa Bloom, held a press conference right in front of Blizzard’s headquarters. Alongside a current employee, Bloom made demands for fast changes at Activision Blizzard, and called for victims of the company’s “frat boy” culture to contact her privately with witness testimony. This was a public conference, which Bloom posted a video of on Instagram.

During this event, the Blizzard employee (identified only as Christine for now) read a speech she had prepared. The speech recounts her own experience after four years with Activision Blizzard, specifically working under the Blizzard Entertainment umbrella. Christine stated that not only did she experience sexual harassment as has been reported elsewhere, she was also retaliated against for filing a complaint to HR. She claimed she was "denied my full profit sharing, denied shares at the company and have had minimal raises in the four years I’ve been employed at Blizzard."

Bloom touted her experience working with victims as a lawyer, citing her recent involvement in compensation cases for victims of Jeffery Epstein. That said, despite her speech championing the support of sexual harassment victims, it’s worth noting Bloom also did advisory work for Harvey Weinstein during the case leading to his imprisonment. For the record, Bloom did cut ties with Weinstein and apologized as that situation escalated.

This is only the latest in a long chain of events all stemming from a California state lawsuit filed against Activision Blizzard earlier this year. The lawsuit alleged a toxic workplace at the company enabled by management for years, and is still in progress. In the meantime, employees have formed an organization (A Better ABK), staged multiple walkouts and more.
