Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Event launch trailer shows off new weapons & more

The launch trailer is jam-packed with nods and references to old Bungie properties.

Destiny 2 has another new content drop today. The 30th Anniversary Event features a ton of new armor, weapons, and more for players to hunt for.

A brand new launch trailer shows off some of these new weapons in action. Have you ever longed for a sidearm that was modeled after the original Halo CE pistol, or how about a pulse rifle based on the iconic Halo battle rifle? These are just a few of the items players can obtain during the new event.

The trailer even shows off a Guardian using a frag grenade to hop up to a high ledge, reminding us of a simpler time.

A first peek behind the curtain of The Grasp of Avarice, an all-new three-player dungeon, shows Guardians traversing some high flying platforms and diving into the depths below looking for that sweet loot.

While in order to access the dungeon and most of the content in this event, players will have to fork over $25, there are a few activities free to players who don’t purchase the bundle. One of those is the new six-player activity, Dares of Eternity.

Xur and its *checks notes* magical space horse guide players on an expedition to impress the eternal equine to access Xur’s treasure hoard.

Of course, we would be remiss if we did not mention the return of our old friend, the exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn from Destiny.

If you’re looking for more information about the Anniversary Event or simply want to know what is included in the free/paid model, you can find all of that information right here.

The event starts today, December 7, 2021, so get out there and enjoy the ride!
