Before you can get storage sheds in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must fully upgrade your house and then pay for expanded storage. All of this can be done by speaking with Tom Nook at the Residents Services center. Expanding your storage to the maximum will cost an up-front fee of 500,000 Bells, which is pretty expensive if you haven’t been playing the turnip market.

Once you’ve upgraded your house and expanded your storage, you’ll find two Storage sheds available at the Nook Stop by redeeming your Nook Miles. Open this shop menu and you can scroll down to find a Storage Shed next to the ABD at the bottom of the Items list you can order. In addition, you’ll find the recipe for a wooden storage shed available to purchase from the DIY recipes tab.

The wooden storage shed will cost you the following resources:

  • Wood x 30
  • Hardwood x 30
  • Softwood x 30
  • Iron nugget x 10

You’ll be able to craft the wooden storage shed immediately, but it’ll take a day for the standard version you ordered to arrive at your home. Place your storage sheds outside in a position you often pass or find you want to change your inventory. This should make your island life far, far easier when needing to obtain new tools, decorations, or crafting ingredients quickly. No more waiting for your house to load!
