How to use Trinkets in Deathloop

Maximize your assassination skills with our guide

Arkane Studios' newest release is Deathloop, a story of rival assassins battling it out across a time loop. To be in tip top killing shape, you'll need to use Trinkets, but unfortunately, the game doesn't really explain much about how to use them. But no worries, we've got you covered with this guide on how to use Trinkets in Deathloop.

Trinkets are gear you can use in Deathloop to enhance either your personal abilities, or your weapon abilities. This ranges from the double jump you get at the start, to improved reload speed, or increased damage when you're low on health.

When you first collect a Trinket at the start of the game, it will be added to your Arsenal, but you won't actually be able to use it until you exit an area and complete a mission. There's a cutscene in the library you'll get once you die at Juliana's hands there, and you'll receive a code you can use to "finish" the first level. Past this point, you'll be able to access a menu between missions that allows you to equip weapons, Slabs, and Trinkets.

While in this menu, open up your Loadout and hover over your equipped weapons there. When you do this you'll be able to access the Trinkets menu. Each weapon will have 1-3 Trinket slots. You'll also always have four personal Trinket slots.

Fallen enemies drop Trinkets, and you can tell them apart by the glowing Residuum effect they give off. You can use Colt's Focus ability to identify enemies that are carrying valuable loot. You can also find Trinkets by exploring each level thoroughly. There are a few scattered around all of Deathloop's maps, and more valuable ones can be found in the levels' hidden areas.

Like most items in Deathloop, Trinkets disappear at the start of a new loop, unless you infuse them. To unlock the ability to infuse, you'll need to complete the tutorial section and defeat the Visionary Wenjie for the first time. Once you've done this, you'll want to sacrifice any Trinkets that you don't want or are weak on the Infuse Gear menu. This will give you enough Residuum to Infuse more powerful Trinkets and weapons.

That covers what you need to know about how to use Trinkets in Deathloop. For more Deathloop features and guides, check out our game hub.
